The Robotics High-Bay

This open, two-story facility allows guests to observe activities taking place in the LCSR.

Lynn and Joseph R. Reynolds, Jr. Student Innovation Laboratory

This lab, located in the larger robotics laboratory, is a space for students to collaborate and conduct robotics research projects.

The Richard A. Swirnow Computer Integrated and Interventional Systems Mock Operating Room

This laboratory provides opportunities for collaboration between faculty and students from the Whiting School and the School of Medicine to develop and test applications for surgical robotics.

The “Mock OR” includes the da Vinci surgery machine for practical training. The da Vinci is a robotic-assisted surgical system that enhances a surgeon's capabilities, allowing them to perform complex procedures with greater precision and control through small incisions. It consists of a surgeon's console, a patient cart with robotic arms, and a vision cart. The surgeon controls the instruments from the console while viewing a magnified, high-definition 3D image of the surgical area. This technology can lead to benefits such as a shorter hospital stay, reduced pain, and a faster recovery time.

Auditorium

A state-of-the-art, 96-seat space for classes and the LCSR seminar, held every Wednesday at noon during fall and spring semesters.

Whiting School Multimedia Exhibit Wall

Located on the 1st floor, this wall provides an illuminating look at engineering achievements at Johns Hopkins.
